From the cover of a student’s copybook

Lovely cover; pity about the grammar.

Correct it if you can.

  1. I think it should be: Why don’t cats fly like birds? – As a question.
Or: Why cats don’t fly like birds. – As a statement.

  2. It’s a statement (explanation). It should end with a period, not a question mark. 😯

    1. Or if it’s a question, just change the word order (Why DON’T CATS …?).

  3. I think the correct form is ‘WHY CATS DON’T FLY LIKE THE BIRDS?’.

    1. Unfortunately not.Two possibilities here. Either change the word order to form a question (Why DON’T CATS …?) or turn it into a statement by dropping the question mark (?) and putting a full stop (.).
