President Trump has language problems too

“You look at what’s happening in Germany, you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden.”

(BBC.com)

This is your chance to prove that your English skills are better than the American President’s by correcting the sentence above.

  1. You write, “It you look at what happened last night in Sweden,” and follow that cluase with a qualifier such as “then one can only imagine what occurences might be caused by similar behaviour on American streets.”

    1. It can be re-written in a number of ways but I believe this was a tweet, hence length is limited.

  3. Good question! 😄 I think ‘You look what’s happening in Germany, you look what’s happening last night in Sweden.’ might be the correct form.
    BTW, “Senhor Biquinho”

    1. The problem lies with the tense. LAST NIGHT refers to the past. Trump used the present continuous (WHAT IS HAPPENING) when you should have said WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT.
