All five minutes


One of my students was explaining the rules of a game which I am not familiar with – floorball. He told me that players are substituted ALL 5 minutes. While I understood what he wanted to say, it was not correct.

When talking about regular intervals – how often something happens – EVERY is the word to use. Therefore, he should have explained that players are substituted EVERY 5 minutes. Similarly, I work EVERY day, except weekends, and I go running EVERY morning, including weekends!
