How do you like to spend your Friday evenings after a week of work? Off to the pub with mates for a pint and a CHINWAG? Or Saturday mornings? Is it a café for a pot of tea, slice of cake and a CHINWAG with a friend? What about when you’re at work? Do you have time to CHINWAG with your colleagues?
I think that this is a lovely alternative for “chat”, especially when you consider the two words – “chin” and “wag” – which help construct it. “Chin” is the bottom part of the face, below the mouth but before the neck. “Wag” is what a dog does with its tail when it’s happy to see you. In a way, this is what happens to the chin when we are busy talking – it moves up and down and from side to side.
